Origin of the Name: The name “Mang Xing Xing” originated from a global naming event organized by the Chongqing Zoo. On September 17, 2021, the zoo launched a naming campaign for the twin panda cubs, encouraging participation through various channels, including WeChat, email, and on-site naming options. Over a thousand name suggestions were collected. After multiple rounds of selection and online voting, “Xing Xing (Bright Star)” was chosen for one of the cubs.
Spoiling His Younger Brother: Xing Xing has a gentle and lovable personality, and he is extremely affectionate towards his twin brother, Chen Chen. During meals, Xing Xing likes to sit next to his brother, and he even carries his heavier brother to the exhibition area. He will also lie on the ground to help lift his brother’s foot when Chen Chen tries to escape. Their close bond is so strong that some visitors have mistaken them for a couple.
