Through an online submission and voting process, the public participated in naming the twin pandas “Yu Bao” and “Yu Bei,” while another cub was named “Liang Yue (良月).” According to Ms. Luo Xueling, the namer, “Yu” is an abbreviation for Chongqing, and the names Yu Bao and Yu Bei symbolize the preciousness of these pandas to the city.
