Introducing Xiang Zhu (香竹), a charming female giant panda born on August 6, 2018, at the Wolong Shenshuping Base of the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center. As a beloved member of her family, she was nurtured by her mother, Zhi Chun, alongside her siblings Ai Lian, Tao Su, and Yuan Fu. In 2021, Xiang Zhu embarked on a new adventure when she moved to the Yangzhou Zao Ni Wan Panda Pavilion to participate in the Yangzhou World Horticultural Expo. There, she quickly captured the hearts of visitors, seamlessly fitting into her new surroundings and enjoying delightful interactions with her panda companions.

Birth: Xiang Zhu was born on August 6, 2018, at the Wolong Shenshuping Base of the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center.

Move to Yangzhou: On April 8, 2021, she was relocated to the Yangzhou Zao Ni Wan Panda Pavilion to participate in the Yangzhou World Horticultural Expo.

Life in Yangzhou: During this exhibition, she joined a delightful group of five female pandas, including Qing Qing (晴晴), Chun Qiao (春俏), Pang Niu (胖妞), Jiu Jiu (玖玖), and Nian Nian (念念), collectively known as the “Panda Supergroup.” This charming ensemble attracted numerous visitors eager to catch a glimpse of the adorable pandas.

Little Foodie: Xiang Zhu is the youngest of the six giant pandas in Yangzhou, but she has a big appetite. She munches on bamboo with a loud, crisp crunch, making it seem like she’s really enjoying her food. Her nickname is “Little Fragrant Pig” (Xiao Xiang Zhu), which sounds the same as her name in Chinese.
