Intriguing Details of Panda Qiang Sheng

Unique Appearance: Qiang Sheng’s small eyes and slightly wider eye spacing make him stand out among pandas. This unique facial feature has led to him being affectionately called the “awkwardly cute representative” of the panda world.

Current Residence: Qiang Sheng was initially raised at the Qinling Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center before moving to Panda Valley, where he took the place of Xiao Xin (小馨), a famous “eating show” panda. One time, Qiang Sheng was sitting alone on a snowy mountain peak, his elbows resting on his knees, quietly munching on a pumpkin as if contemplating the big questions of life.

Adoption: Qiang Sheng is sponsored for life by Janssen Pharmaceuticals, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, which has brought him further social attention and care.

Birthday Celebration: For his seventh birthday, Qiang Sheng was treated to an elaborate celebration prepared by his caretakers. Amid the festive setting, he displayed his impressive long legs and delighted onlookers by effortlessly performing a full split.

Independent Spirit: Qiang Sheng is remarkably self-sufficient when it comes to his daily routine. Unlike other giant pandas who need keepers to call them in and out of their enclosures, he shows up right on time all by himself. What’s even more impressive is that he can open and close doors on his own, without any assistance from the keepers.
