Intriguing Details of Panda Xiao Xin
Pumpkin Princess: Xiao Xin is a huge fan of pumpkins, often seen hugging one and taking bites from it with great enthusiasm. Because of this, fans affectionately call her the “Pumpkin Princess.” Her eating videos have gone viral online, with some videos reaching over 200 million views.
Table Manners: Xiao Xin has excellent table manners when eating bamboo shoots. She’s quick and efficient, never pretends to eat, and always keeps her eating area clean, rarely getting her belly dirty. Even when eating steamed buns, she might drop a few crumbs, but she always cleans up her “little table” afterward.
Food Fights with Mom: When she was younger, Xiao Xin once had a food competition with her mother, Xiao Ya Tou, over a batch of bamboo shoots. Xiao Xin refused to leave the plastic basket filled with bamboo shoots, causing her mother to frantically push the basket against the enclosure bars. Eventually, Xiao Xin was overturned and dropped to the ground by her mother, ending their little “showdown.”
Mountain Patrol King: Xiao Xin enjoys a very comfortable life in the Foping Panda Valley, where she has half a mountain to herself. She wakes up two hours earlier than other pandas each day to patrol her territory, earning her the playful nickname “Mountain Patrol King” from her fans. Her area is also home to fruit trees, and during fruit season, Xiao Xin climbs up to pick and enjoy the fresh fruits.
Model Employee: Xiao Xin shares the same habit as Ya Yi (雅一). She can open the door to start her day and close it herself when she finishes, showing her professional attitude and dedication to her “job.”
Clean Freak: Xiao Xin has a unique habit that other pandas don’t have—she must return to a specific spot inside her enclosure to relieve herself. She is a very tidy little panda, paying great attention to cleanliness.
