Panda Qi Guo: The Top Student

Panda Qi Guo

Qi Guo (奇果/Qiguo), born on July 1, 2016, at the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, earned the nickname “Top Student” for her impressive early development. While most cubs were still mastering basic movements, she quickly graduated to climbing trees with ease and agility. Her playful nature and mischievous streak, including stealing milk from friends, make her a beloved troublemaker.

Top Student: Qi Guo has been a top student since she was a cub, always learning skills faster than other pandas. While her peers were still lying down obediently, Qi Guo had already started walking. By the time other pandas were walking steadily, she was already climbing trees with agility, and it’s hard to spot her on the ground.

Interaction with Her Sister: Qi Guo often plays and roughhouses with her sister. Although she is young and small, she uses surprise attacks and various strategies to often chase her sister away in defeat.

Little Mischief Maker: Sometimes, Qi Guo likes to steal things from her friends. For example, she has been known to snatch neighbor “Yuan Man (园满)’s” milk from her bowl. Despite her cute appearance, she can be quite the mischievous young lady.

Love for Climbing Trees: Qi Guo has a special love for climbing trees. She often climbs up and refuses to come down, spending her time eating bamboo shoots and napping in the branches. It takes a lot of effort from the keepers to coax her down from the trees.
