World’s Only Giant Panda Triplets Celebrate 10th Birthday with Two Guinness World Records

The world’s only giant panda triplets, “Meng Shuai Ku (Meng Meng, Shuai Shuai, Ku Ku,” celebrated their 10th birthday on July 29th. The event took place at the Chimelong Safari Park in Guangzhou, which organized a special celebration for the occasion. The triplets were awarded two Guinness World Records certifications by a representative from Guinness World Records Greater China: “First Successful Breeding of Giant Panda Triplets” and “Oldest Living Giant Panda Triplets.”

“Meng Shuai Ku” are among the few animals in mainland China to have received Guinness World Records honors.

At the birthday party, two themed airships celebrating the triplets’ 10th birthday flew over the Guangzhou Tower and Chimelong Resort. The park also prepared birthday gifts for each of the pandas. As the special birthday cakes were brought to the “birthday stars,” invited guests and visitors sang a birthday song, and the triplets began their “eating broadcast” in the midst of the celebration. The cakes were made from honey water, fruit chunks, bamboo shoots, carrots, and bamboo, balancing health and taste.

On the early morning of July 29, 2014, giant panda mother “Ju Xiao” gave birth to the triplets at Chimelong Safari Park. Now, under the careful care of their keepers, the triplets have reached adulthood. The eldest sister, “Meng Meng,” recently gave birth to a female cub named “Meng Er Dai.” Since 2013, Chimelong Safari Park has successfully bred 11 giant panda cubs from 8 litters, including the only surviving giant panda triplets in the world.
