She inherited her father’s long legs and a commanding, “boss-like” aura, exuding a presence that easily outshines many male pandas. According to her keepers, whenever they feed her indoors, she’s never in a rush like other pandas. Instead, she eats slowly and confidently, fully aware that all the food in their hands is meant just for her.
Breeding Achievements of Panda Shu Qin
Qin Xin (琴心): On July 16, 2016, Panda Shu Qin gave birth to a daughter named Qin Xin at Bifengxia. Qin Xin’s lineage was not considered the best candidate for wild training, as neither of her parents were from wild generations. At the time, another panda, Xiu Qiu (绣球), was also in wild training, and her mother was from the wild generation, Shui Xiu (水秀). Initially, Qin Xin was part of the control group for wild training. Due to Shui Xiu’s insufficient milk and Xiu Qiu’s failure to meet weight standards, Xiu Qiu was eliminated before entering the second phase of training at Tiantai Mountain. As a result, Qin Xin was promoted to a main participant in the program. It’s said that Qin Xin often played outside during the day and returned at night to drink milk from her mother. Sometimes, for several consecutive days, the staff couldn’t find her, and it was only through the recording device in her mother’s collar that they learned she had returned.
Shan Zhu (山竹): On June 20, 2019, Shu Qin gave birth to a daughter named Shan Zhu at the Wolong Shenshu Ping Base. On September 29, 2019, Shan Zhu was adopted for life by Sichuan Fengsheng Paper Industry. From a young age, Shan Zhu displayed the temperament of a powerful female boss, exuding a “big sister” aura and appearing tough to approach. She now lives in the base’s new area.
A Pair of Twins: On September 29, 2020, Shu Qin gave birth to twins Xing Yi (星怡) and Xing Qiu (星秋) at Shenshuping. Xing Qiu is Shu Qin’s only son to date. When they were one year old, the twins were adopted by Mercedes-Benz, becoming the third pair of twins adopted by the brand, following Xing Hui (星徽) and Xing Rui (星睿), and Xing Ya (星雅) and Xing An (星安). They were named to commemorate the “Mercedes-Benz EQ Year.”
