Life Experience of Panda Lu Lu
Early Life: On August 16, 2014, Lu Lu was born at the Ya’an Bifengxia Base. On April 9, 2015, She moved to the Dujiangyan Base, where she began a new chapter in her life.
First Cub: On August 10, 2019, Lu Lu gave birth to a daughter, known as Lu Lu Zai (meaning Lu Lu’s Cub), at the Shenshuping Base. In the early hours of April 9, 2020, around 2 a.m., Lu Lu Zai was playing alone on a wooden structure with a hanging ball toy in the outdoor playground of the base’s kindergarten. Tragically, she became entangled in the rope attached to the toy. After struggling for several minutes, she stopped moving and sadly passed away. Lu Lu Zai had been separated from her mother at an early age to join the kindergarten. She was just over seven months old and never had the chance to receive her own name.
Sconed Cub: On August 28, 2020, Lu Lu became a mother again, giving birth to a son named Nong Nong (father: Yi Bao) at Shenshuping. The name “Nong” (檂) symbolizes lush, thriving trees, representing health and strong growth. When he was young, Nong Nong lived with Su Yang (苏阳) and E Mei (娥眉). Zang Zang and Su Yang had a love-hate “brotherly” relationship. When they got along, the two cubs would sit side by side, happily munching on bamboo shoots. But when they quarreled, they either wrestled fiercely or roared so loudly that their voices echoed throughout the entire base.
