Awkward Birth: On July 31, 2016, Mei Xi gave birth to twins, a boy named Ruyi and a girl named Mu Yun. However, the birth was a bit of a chaotic experience. Due to her nervousness, both of the babies fell onto the ground. For a moment, Mei Xi seemed unsure of which baby to pick up first, leading to a funny yet tense scene. The staff members were both worried and amused by the situation.
Life Experience of Panda Mei Xi
Birth: On August 10, 2006, Mei Xi was born at the Wolong Shenshuping Base of the China Giant Panda Conservation and Research Center.
Relocation due to Earthquake: On June 26, 2008, Mei Xi, along with Si Jia (思嘉) and Qian Qian (芊芊), was relocated to the Yunnan Wild Animal Park due to the earthquake. The relocation agreement stipulated that the pandas would stay temporarily from June 25, 2008, to August 31, 2012, and would return to the Wolong Giant Panda Base once it was rebuilt.
Return to Sichuan: On March 31, 2014, as part of the “Panda Homecoming Year” initiative, Mei Xi returned to the China Giant Panda Conservation and Research Center’s Dujiangyan Base. On March 31, 2015, she was once again relocated, this time to the China Giant Panda Conservation and Research Center’s Ya’an Bifengxia Base.

- Ru Yi (如意), male, lineage number 1021. Born on July 31, 2016, he traveled with Ding Ding to the Moscow Zoo in Russia on April 29, 2019.
- Mu Yun (牧云), female, lineage number 1022. Born on July 31, 2016, she was sent on a mission to the Changchun Northeast Tiger Forest Park on August 21, 2018.
- Hua Hong (华鸿), male, lineage number 1105. Born on August 17, 2017, he traveled with Long Sheng, Qing Feng, Xing An, Fu Fu, Li Dui, Jing Bao, and Yu Lei to the Phoenix China Giant Panda Garden on May 29, 2020.
