Life Exprience of Panda Yun Wu
Birth and Name: On the morning of June 5, 2018, at 8:20 AM, Ya Yun successfully gave birth to a pair of panda twins – a female cub weighing 135.3 grams and a male cub, Yun Wu, weighing 148.8 grams at birth. Their names were chosen through an online vote, with “Yun Wu” symbolizing bravery and masculinity, perfectly matching his male identity and lively, energetic personality.
Early Life: As he grew up at the base, Yun Wu displayed a spirited and curious nature. With a notable amount of gray fur as a cub and a love for digging, he earned the playful nickname “Little Coal Miner”.
Reception Director: Today, Yun Wu resides in Villa No. 5 at the Chengdu Panda Base, right next to Villa No. 6, home to the well-known panda Hua Hua (花花). Since visitors pass by Yun Wu’s villa on their way to Hua Hua’s, he is often referred to as the “Reception Director,” delighting guests with his friendly and welcoming presence.
Daily Life: Yun Wu is always very focused and serious when eating, as if nothing else in the world matters. Some visitors even use him as an example to teach their children the importance of eating properly. Additionally, Yun Wu seems to dream frequently while sleeping. Unlike other pandas who remain still, he often scratches his bottom or rubs his feet wildly – definitely not the most graceful behavior!
