Relocation and Seperation: In January 2016, Qing Qing and his mother moved to the Dujiangyan Base of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda. While Qing Qing stayed with his mother, his sister Bing Bing was taken care of by another panda named Fei Fei (妃妃).

Naming: In March 2016, Qing Qing received his name, which means “green” in Chinese, symbolizing youth and vitality. His sister was named Bing Bing, which means “ice,” symbolizing purity and resilience. The names also draw inspiration from the historical figure Li Bing, who built the Dujiangyan irrigation system and protected Qingcheng Mountain.

Adolescence and Growing Up: In September 2016, Qing Qing was weaned and separated from his mother, starting a new chapter of life living with his sister Bing Bing.
