Since then, Jiu Jiu has exhibited typical giant panda behaviors, including a love for climbing trees and playful antics. Unlike many animals, he doesn’t hibernate and isn’t deterred by the cold or damp weather. Much of his day is spent eating and sleeping, embodying the relaxed lifestyle of giant pandas.
On March 1, 2024, Jiu Jiu safely arrived in Chengdu, Sichuan, where he will continue his journey in a new environment, contributing to the conservation and appreciation of giant pandas. His journey from Spain to China marks another chapter in his story as a cherished representative of both his home zoo and the panda conservation efforts worldwide.
