Raised with her twin sister, she’s grown into an adventurous spirit, even taking on the role of teacher in wildlife training, guiding her cub in the ways of the wild.

Life Experience of Panda Hui Hui

Childhood: Hui Hui was raised with care at the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda, where she enjoyed a happy childhood with her siblings.

Physical Characteristics: Hui Hui is known for her lively and energetic nature, earning her nicknames like “tomboy” and “little tank.” She has some distinctive features, such as a double chin and “potato legs,” which she inherited from her mother, Xi Mei.

Relocations: On January 16, 2015, Hui Hui was sent to Langzhong Panda Park for display and public education. She later returned to other bases of the China Conservation and Research Center, including the Hetaoping Base and Wolong Tiantaishan.

Wildlife Training: In recent years, Hui Hui has been involved in wildlife training programs. In 2023, she participated in the first phase of wildlife training with her cub at the Hetaoping Base. In 2024, she continued the second phase of training with her cub at Wolong Tiantaishan. During this process, Hui Hui, as a mother, taught her cub essential survival skills, such as foraging, finding water, and avoiding predators in the wild.
