LIttle White Socks: One of He Feng’s most recognizable features is the tuft of white fur on the tips of his paws, which gives the impression that he is wearing white socks. This unique characteristic has earned him the affectionate nickname “Little White Socks” among fans.
The Madman: As a cub, He Feng was lively and loved to pick fights. He often chased his younger sister He He and other pandas around, earning the nickname “He Madman” (He Feng Zi). However, as he grew older, He Feng transformed into a peaceful and gentle gentleman who loved harmony.
Life Experience of Panda He Feng
Birth: He Feng was born alongside his twin sister, He Yu, on August 9, 2016, at the Chengdu Research Base. From a young age, He Feng showcased a vibrant spirit, delighting visitors and caregivers alike with his playful behavior.
Move between Dujiangyan and Chengdu: Throughout his early years, He Feng experienced several relocations. On April 6, 2017, he moved with his mother, Cheng Gong, and sister, He Yu, to the Dujiangyan Panda Valley. However, their stay was short-lived, as they returned to the Chengdu Research Base on October 11, 2017. The family again moved to Dujiangyan Panda Valley on December 14, 2018, where He Feng continued to thrive.
Settle in Shanghai: In a significant career opportunity, He Feng and fellow panda Xing Guang (星光) traveled to Shanghai Zoo on June 18, 2019, to bring joy to visitors there. During their time in Shanghai, He Feng and Xing Guang formed a deep brotherly bond, sharing nearly three years of their lives together.
Current Life: As He Feng and Xing Guang matured, the keepers decided to separate them to ensure their safety and avoid unnecessary conflicts. With this change, He Feng now resides alone in the northern outdoor exhibit of the giant panda house at Shanghai Zoo.
