Life Experience of Panda Fu Duo Duo
Early Childhood: Shortly after her birth, Fu Duo Duo received meticulous care from the staff at the Chengdu Research Base. Just two days after her birth, on July 19, 2021, she was introduced to the public for the first time, immediately capturing the attention of many visitors who were drawn to her adorable appearance.
Loss of Her Mother: Tragically, Fu Duo Duo’s mother, Qi Fu, passed away in the early hours of February 15, 2022, after a brief illness. After losing her mother, Fu Duo Duo became timid and cautious, always carefully observing her surroundings, afraid of being startled. She often cuddled a little bear plush toy and sat in a corner, seemingly missing her late mother.
New Home and Friends: Following her mother’s death, Fu Duo Duo was moved to the Moon Delivery Room, where she was lovingly cared for by her adoptive mother, the giant panda Ya Li (雅莉), and her daughter Ya Song (雅颂). Fu Duo Duo is very grateful and understands the effort it takes for Ya Li to nurse her. When she sees her foster mother looking tired, she immediately sits behind her, transforming into a “panda pillow,” allowing her foster mother to lean comfortably on her.
Losing Her Cousin: Fu Duo Duo got along very well with her friends, including Bao Xin (宝新), Ya Song, and Jin Xiao (金宵). Her bond with her cousin Bao Xin was especially touching. Bao Xin was very fond of Fu Duo Duo, always staying by her side to protect her when she was being mischievous, and Fu Duo Duo would often lean on him, enjoying the warmth of family affection. Unfortunately, Bao Xin passed away due to pancreatitis, which left Fu Duo Duo heartbroken for a long time.
Adoption and Public Attention: Fu Duo Duo has garnered widespread attention and affection from the public. The luxury brand Beastly announced a lifetime adoption of Fu Duo Duo and gave her the nickname “Pu Pu.”
