Growth and Development
He Feng was born alongside his twin sister, He Yu, on August 9, 2016, at the Chengdu Research Base. From a young age, He Feng showcased a vibrant spirit, delighting visitors and caregivers alike with his playful behavior.
Throughout his early years, He Feng experienced several relocations. On April 6, 2017, he moved with his mother, Cheng Gong, and sister, He Yu, to the Dujiangyan Panda Valley. This habitat was designed to provide a more natural environment for pandas. However, their stay was short-lived, as they returned to the Chengdu Research Base on October 11, 2017. The family again moved to Dujiangyan Panda Valley on December 14, 2018, where He Feng continued to thrive.
In a significant career opportunity, He Feng and fellow panda Xing Guang (星光) traveled to Shanghai Zoo on June 18, 2019, to bring joy to visitors there. During their time in Shanghai, He Feng and Xing Guang formed a deep brotherly bond, sharing nearly three years of their lives together. They delighted visitors with their playful interactions, drawing crowds who came to see the lively pandas.
As He Feng and Xing Guang matured, the keepers decided to separate them to ensure their safety and avoid unnecessary conflicts. With this change, He Feng now resides alone in the northern outdoor exhibit of the giant panda house at Shanghai Zoo. This new environment allows him to showcase his playful spirit and continue captivating audiences with his charming antics.
