Intriguing Details of Panda Ai Ai
Unique Ears: Ai Ai has one big ear and one small ear. His left ear has a tuft of white fur that droops down, making it look like a folded-eared cat. This is a natural trait and does not affect his hearing. Additionally, Ai Ai has long legs, which he inherited from his father, Shen Wei, giving him a unique appearance.
Master of Destruction Ai Ai has been mischievous since childhood, often encouraging his brother Qin Qin to join him in causing trouble. With incredible destructive power, he is a true “home-wrecker.” Once, during an outdoor exhibition, he chased and accidentally killed a small bird. Another time, he tore down decorative banana leaves, turning the “Banana House Palace” into ruins.
Smart and Selective Qin Qin is highly intelligent and can communicate seamlessly with keepers. When offered an apple, he listens attentively, sits properly, and tilts his head to signal for his treat, making him very popular. However, he only behaves this way with familiar keepers – he ignores strangers no matter how much they call him.
Strong Imitation Skills Qin Qin is highly observant and has strong mimicry abilitie – —even teaching himself how to open doors. No enclosure gate could stop him until he was found wandering in the staff passage and sent back. Once, when keepers played a video to teach him how to mate, he quickly learned and successfully completed the task.
Exhibit Schedule: Due to Ai Ai’s tendency to cause a bit of damage to his surroundings, his exhibit time has been reduced to protect the park’s facilities. Currently, Ai Ai follows a “one day out, three days off” schedule, sharing an outdoor exhibit space with his sister, Long Long (隆隆). When their ears are not visible, they can be distinguished by their sleeping positions: Long Long sleeps closest to visitors, sprawled out on a hammock, while Ai Ai curls up and sleeps on a large rock, further away from people.
