Intriguing Details of Panda Qin Qin

Birth: Qin Qin and his twin brother Ai Ai were born on the early morning of October 9, 2016. Their mother, Mei Qing, had been living at Chimelong Safari Park for over four years before giving birth to the twins. At birth, Qin Qin weighed 160.9 grams, while his younger brother Ai Ai weighed 103.9 grams.

Appearance: Qin Qin closely resembles his mother, Mei Qing, with a clean and bright coat. However, his face is longer compared to hers. He inherited his height from his father, Shen Wei, with long limbs and a standing height of over 175 cm, making him the tallest panda in Chimelong.

Well-Behaved Panda: Qin Qin understands his keepers’ instructions and is very obedient. During feeding, he cooperates by sitting properly and placing his paws as instructed. Even if the keeper accidentally drops his food, he patiently picks it up without getting upset.

Daily Hobby: Qin Qin loves sitting and listening to people chat. His sitting posture is bold, often resting his paws on a tree stump or his knees, with his ears perked up and eyes focused, as if he truly understands the conversation. When the keeper calls, “Qin, come out to eat,” he responds with a soft bleat and walks out.

“Crayon Xiao Qin”: At the Panda Restaurant (Chimelong’s panda exhibit), he enjoys leaning against the glass while eating. His chubby side profile resembles Crayon Shin-chan, earning him the adorable nickname “Crayon Xiao Qin” from fans. Visitors often take pictures with him in this pose, making it a popular photo spot at the Panda Restaurant.
