To celebrate this joyous occasion, the zoo initiated a global naming activity coinciding with the pandas’ first month of life. After careful consideration, including online voting and expert opinions, the names “Chong Chong” and “Shuang Shuang” were officially selected.

In April 2023, during the May Day holiday, the four panda cubs, including Chong Chong, participated in playful activities. From 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM, the pandas entertained visitors by engaging in delightful antics such as “brewing tea” and “playing mahjong,” showcasing their playful and social nature.
On September 5, 2023, a well-known food brand, Weilong, announced the lifelong adoption of the twin pandas Chong Chong and Shuang Shuang, bestowing upon them the nicknames “Ba Xiao Bao” and “Dao Xiao Bei,” respectively. This initiative not only supports panda conservation efforts but also raises public awareness about the importance of protecting these beloved animals.
In June 2024, the four pandas celebrated their fifth birthday together, with their caregivers preparing a special birthday feast for them. This joyful occasion highlighted the close bond shared between the pandas and their caretakers, as well as the ongoing commitment to ensuring their well-being and happiness.
