Life Experience of Panda Ya Lun
Birth: On September 3, 2016, Atlanta time, panda “Lun Lun” at the Atlanta Zoo in the United States successfully gave birth to a pair of twins. The weight of the male cub at birth was 109.2 grams, and the female cub’s birth weight was 132 grams.
Naming Ceremony: Later that year, on December 12, the zoo announced their names, which were selected by public vote. Under the attentive care of the zoo staff, Ya Lun thrived during her early years, benefiting from a nurturing environment with nutritious food and a comfortable habitat designed to mimic her natural surroundings.
Apply for Return: In May 2024, Zoo Atlanta announced it had applied for international travel permits for Ya Lun and three other pandas to return to China.
Return to China: The much-anticipated journey home occurred on October 13, 2024, when Ya Lun, her parents Lun Lun and Yang Yang, and her twin sister Xi Lun arrived safely at Chengdu’s Shuangliu International Airport.
