Giant Pandas “Bao Li” and “Qing Bao” Enjoy Snow Fun in the U.S.

According to a report on the Hill website on January 6, a heavy snowfall hit Washington, D.C. in the evening, and the pair of giant pandas at the National Zoo were spotted playing in the snow.

The National Zoo shared a video on social media platform X, with the caption: “Rolling in a winter wonderland!”

In the video, the giant pandas “Bao Li” and “Qing Bao” are seen jumping, rolling, and frolicking in the snowy outdoor area.

The report noted that this pair of giant pandas will make their public debut on January 24, marking the long-awaited return of giant pandas to the zoo.

At the end of last year, the 3-year-old pandas left Sichuan Province, China, and arrived in Washington.

The zoo’s previous trio of pandas departed Washington at the end of 2023. However, panda lovers in the U.S. were thrilled when the Smithsonian National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute announced in May that giant pandas would return for research purposes.

The report highlighted that the return of the two pandas to the National Zoo has generated great excitement. While the pandas await their public debut, the zoo will regularly update the public on their latest activities.
