Living Experience of Panda Wu Jun

Challenging Early Life: Wu Jun faced challenges early in life when he was born just months before the catastrophic Wenchuan earthquake. During this time, he was temporarily housed in a shelter until April 2009, when he was transferred to the Ya’an Bifengxia Base of the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center.

Relocations: Wu Jun spent nearly two years at the Guangzhou Zoo from September 29, 2010, to December 17, 2012. Following this period, he was transferred to Panda Island at the Tai Shan Tian Yi Lake Flower Sea Scenic Area on December 18, 2017, alongside another giant panda named “Xi Wang (希望).” This six-year stint further solidified his reputation as a beloved panda, affectionately nicknamed “Kung Fu Panda” due to his lively character and playful antics that delighted countless visitors.

Settle in Bifengxia: Finally, as his exhibition period came to an end, Wu Jun returned to the Ya’an Bifengxia Base on February 24, 2024, along with Xi Wang.
