Intriguing Details of Panda Qing Qing
Appearance: Qing Qing is known for her round, adorable face, with peanut-shaped eye patches that accentuate her big, expressive eyes. She has wide-set ears that add to her charm and a plump physique that makes her irresistibly cute.
Change of Personalities: During her childhood, Qing Qing exhibited a gentle and calm demeanor, often preferring to relax in the trees. As she grew older, her personality became more pronounced, with moments of impatience interspersed with her more obedient side. Known for her bold sitting posture and hearty appetite, she often “packs” her food, showcasing her playful approach to mealtime.
Class Leader: Just a few days after moving into the juvenile panda yard, Qing Qing had already “roared” at all the cubs in Class 1, establishing her authority and keeping them in line. Even as some pandas later grew much bigger than her, none dared to challenge her leadership.
Acting Cute: One time, Qing Qing stood in front of a keeper with her hands on her hips, as if “arguing” with them. When the keeper threatened not to give her any apples if she didn’t behave, Qing Qing immediately dropped her tough stance, acting cute and clinging to the keeper for apples, showing none of her earlier fierceness.
Relocation: Qing Qing spent her early years at the Chengdu Research Base. On September 28, 2020, Qing Qing moved to Changsha Ecological Zoo. She adapted swiftly, establishing positive relationships with her caretakers and fellow animals.
