Ning Ning (宁宁/Ningning)’s playful spirit was impossible to ignore—he was the panda known for his acrobatic flips and charming antics, making everyone around him smile. Growing up at the Bifengxia Base, he became an expert tumbler, earning his place as the “Master of Liugong Island” when he moved to Weihai. Despite his vibrant personality, his journey came to a sad end at 15, leaving behind a legacy of joy and playful energy.

Life Experience of Panda Ning Ning

Growing Up: Ning Ning spent his early years at the China Giant Panda Protection Research Center’s Bifengxia Base, growing up alongside his siblings.

Personalities: Ning Ning was known for his lively and playful nature. He had a particular talent for performing flips and hanging upside down, earning him the title of the best tumbler among the pandas.

Move to Weihai: On November 5, 2010, Ning Ning was relocated to the National Forest Park on Liugong Island in Weihai, Shandong Province, where he began a new chapter in his life. He became a local celebrity and was affectionately referred to as the “Master of Liugong Island.”

Passing: Unfortunately, Ning Ning passed away on March 24, 2023, due to chronic heart failure caused by pericarditis and epicarditis, leading to acute respiratory failure. He was 15 years old at the time of his passing.
