Bao Xin (宝新/Baoxin)’s boundless energy and playful antics brought joy to everyone around him, whether he was climbing trees or daydreaming in the sunshine. Born in the “Moon Delivery Room” at the Chengdu Research Base, his life was full of curiosity and fun, spending his days exploring the world. Sadly, after a sudden illness in early March 2023, Bao Xin’s vibrant spirit was lost too soon, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Life Experience of Panda Bao Xin

Early Life: Bao Xin was an active and energetic panda, with a lively and playful nature. His daily routine was full of joy and activity, revolving around four key behaviors: drinking milk, climbing trees, walking, and daydreaming.

Illness: On March 3, 2023, Bao Xin began showing symptoms of lethargy, refusal to eat, and a lack of energy.

Treatment: The medical team at the Chengdu Research Base quickly initiated treatment, consulting multidisciplinary experts. Through blood tests, imaging, and other diagnostic methods, Bao Xin was preliminarily diagnosed with acute severe pancreatitis.

Cause of Death: Despite receiving round-the-clock intensive care for over ten days, Bao Xin tragically passed away on March 14, 2023, due to multiple organ failure.
