Basic Information

Life Experience of Panda Zhu Ling

Early Life: Zhu Ling was born on August 18, 2007, at the Walnut Grove Wild Training Base of the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center. On July 21, 2008, Zhu Ling relocated to the Ya’an Bifengxia Base of the same research center, where she continued to receive professional care and attention.

Cleanliness Obsession: Zhu Ling is very clean and has never liked rolling in the mud since she was young. If she gets dirty, she will proactively go to the pool to bathe or ask the keepers to wipe her down, making her body appear almost glowing white.

Move to Weihai Liugong Island: On November 5, 2010, Zhu Ling, along with another panda named Ning Ning (宁宁), was sent on a temporary exhibition to the Liugong Island National Forest Park in Weihai. She enjoyed climbing trees in her free time, sleeping, eating, and even meditating on them. However, because of this, the tree bark in her enclosure had become damaged and worn out.

Return: After several years of successful exhibitions, Zhu Ling returned to the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center in Dujiangyan on September 6, 2023, aboard flight 3U6982. She now stays in the non-exhibition area, probably preparing for mating and breeding.
