Life Journey of Panda Qi Zhen
September 13, 2021: Qi Zhen was born as part of a pair of fraternal twins at Chongqing Zoo. The female twin was named Qi Zhen, and her younger male sibling was named Qi Bao. Both cubs thrived under the attentive care of the zoo staff.
December 21, 2021: On the 100th day after their birth, Chongqing Zoo held a naming ceremony for the twins, officially naming them Qi Zhen (sister) and Qi Bao (brother).
November 1, 2022: Kaiyu Group adopted the twin pandas through a donation-based adoption. They renamed the siblings Xiong Xiao Kai (brother) and Mao Xiao Yu (sister).
February 9, 2024: Qi Zhen injured her leg while playing. The caregivers promptly brought her indoors for solitary care and reported the injury to the veterinarians. Specialists from Jiulongpo District People’s Hospital were invited for a consultation and treatment. Thankfully, Qi Zhen’s life was not in danger. To ensure her swift recovery, Chongqing Zoo conducted further examinations and precise treatments on February 20, 2024.
