On December 1, the Chongqing Public Security Bureau Traffic Patrol Police Corps, Chongqing Zoo, and Changan Qiyuan jointly held an event at Chongqing Zoo, where the nationally renowned “internet celebrity” giant panda Mang Can Can was officially named the “Chongqing 122 National Traffic Safety Day Ambassador.” Mang Can Can was awarded the special “police badge” number 010122 during the event. Changan Qiyuan also presented the zoo with a customized statue of Mang Can Can as the “Cuddly Officer” and launched interactive activities such as safety knowledge workshops and traffic knowledge quizzes.

Mang Can Can, a male giant panda born on July 6, 2023, at Chongqing Zoo, is affectionately nicknamed “Mang Xiao Wu” (Little Fifth) by netizens as he is the fifth in his family. On May 30, 2024, Changan Qiyuan announced a lifetime adoption of Mang Can Can, gifting him a specially customized car during the adoption ceremony.
With the support of the Chongqing Public Security Bureau Traffic Patrol Police Corps, Chongqing Zoo, and Changan Qiyuan, Mang Xiao Wu now holds a new title as the “Chongqing 122 National Traffic Safety Day Ambassador,” marking a step forward in public welfare. In the future, Mang Can Can will continue to safeguard the panda’s natural habitat while contributing to traffic safety awareness.

During the event, Chongqing’s motorcycle-mounted police officers interacted with citizens both onsite and online, spreading traffic safety knowledge. They emphasized that 122 is the traffic accident emergency hotline and reminded everyone to follow traffic laws and practice civilized travel.
In July 2024, during Mang Can Can’s first birthday celebration, Changan Qiyuan joined the “Chongqing Youth Giant Panda Protection Program,” naming Mang Can Can as its Public Welfare Ambassador to encourage society to care for pandas and protect nature. Recently, Changan Qiyuan collaborated with over 40 car owners from Gansu, Anhui, Jiangsu, and Shanxi provinces to carry out a desert tree-planting initiative in Minqin’s Sifangdun Ecological Forest. This effort highlights their commitment to ecological conservation and their brand vision of “leaping toward a better future.”
