Growth Journey
Since her birth, Man Lan has received meticulous care and nurturing at the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center. Over the years, she has grown into a healthy and lively giant panda. On April 2, 2024, Man Lan, along with her companions Hong Xi (鸿禧), Jia Bao (家宝), and Man Man (满满), was transferred to Lanzhou Wildlife Zoo, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in her life.
Life at Lanzhou Wildlife Zoo
Arrival Date: On April 2, 2024, Man Lan and her companions safely arrived at Lanzhou Wildlife Zoo, entering an adaptation period to help them acclimate to their new surroundings.
Official Debut: After a period of adjustment and preparation, Man Lan made her official debut at Lanzhou Wildlife Zoo on April 25, 2024, allowing visitors to meet this charming panda.
Living Environment: At Lanzhou Wildlife Zoo, Man Lan enjoys a specially designed living space consisting of “two rooms, one hall, and one courtyard.” The indoor temperature is maintained at a comfortable 15°C during the summer, with a humidity level of 65% to mimic the giant panda’s natural habitat. Additionally, her enclosure is equipped with a fresh air system, water purification system, air conditioning with humidification, and temperature control system to ensure her health and comfort.
Diet: Man Lan’s primary food source consists of bamboo, including tender bamboo shoots and fresh leaves. In addition to bamboo, she also enjoys treats like carrots, apples, and nutritious窝窝头 (a type of steamed bun). All her food undergoes strict selection and safety and nutritional testing to guarantee her health and balanced diet.
