Three giant pandas at the Shanghai Wild Animal Park – Xuebao, Kangkang, and Qianjin – celebrated their birthdays together.
Early on the morning of the 4th, caregivers had already set up the birthday party venues for each panda, complete with flowers, greenery, and creatively arranged bamboo beds, balls, baskets, and bins, creating a warm and romantic atmosphere. At 9 AM, the birthday celebrations officially began. Caregivers presented personalized birthday gifts for each panda, including multi-layered ice cakes, various snacks on sticks, and handmade toys like ice bowling balls. While enjoying their delicious treats, the pandas also felt the caregivers’ dedication and affection. As the pandas happily indulged in their cakes, visitors stopped to watch and celebrate with them.

Xuebao was born on October 4, 2017, and is known for its cute big forehead and rounded body. Qianjin was born six days later, on October 10, 2017, and is characterized by a gentle personality and a blend of beauty and grace. Kangkang, born on October 6, 2019, is two years younger than Xuebao and Qianjin. This lively panda is full of energy, loves climbing trees, swinging, and walking on balance beams, and occasionally shows off some “kung fu” moves.
During the National Day holiday, Shanghai Wild Animal Park has planned a series of exciting activities aimed at helping visitors learn more about giant pandas. Caregivers lead guests into the pandas’ world with lively and engaging explanations. A panda figurine painting activity inspired visitors’ creativity and imagination, as they picked up brushes to color the adorable panda figurines and convey their good wishes. On the blessing wall, visitors wrote messages of goodwill for the giant pandas and stamped them with a special commemorative seal.
