Cheng Feng (成风) is a delightful giant panda born on June 11, 2019, at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Alongside her twin sister, Cheng Lang, Cheng Feng’s early life was marked by unique challenges and care. Although Cheng Lang was notably the lightest panda cub on record, Cheng Feng also received dedicated attention from her caretakers and mother. Now thriving in her new home at the Dujiangyan Panda Valley, Cheng Feng continues to grow and capture the hearts of panda enthusiasts.

Intriguing Details of Panda Cheng Feng

Umbrella Incident: At the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, a lost umbrella fell from the sky, and Cheng Feng mistook it for a “bamboo shoot” sent from heaven. She eagerly hugged the umbrella handle and wouldn’t let go, eventually causing the umbrella to accidentally open, which immediately scared her away.

Appearance Question: Although Cheng Feng and Cheng Lang are twins, Cheng Feng clearly resembles Ji Xiao (绩笑) more, which makes it hard not to wonder about the parentage.

Growth Experience of Panda Cheng Feng

Early Life: Cheng Feng was born alongside her twin sister, Cheng Lang (成浪), at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Cheng Lang, weighing only 42.8 grams at birth, was the lightest panda cub ever recorded at the base and earned the nickname “Thumbelina.” Although Cheng Feng was slightly heavier, she received meticulous care from her keepers and mother.

Healthy Development: Under the attentive care of her mother and keepers, Cheng Feng grew healthily. Over time, her growth indicators aligned with those of her peers.

Move: On April 21, 2022, Cheng Feng, along with her sister Cheng Lang and another panda named Ji Xiao, relocated to the Dujiangyan Panda Valley, where they began a new chapter in their lives.
