Over 1,000 Giant Panda Sculptures Receive Christmas Makeovers at Exhibition in Hong Kong

Hong Kong’s largest panda-themed exhibition, PANDA GO! Hong Kong Tour, has reached its final stop, moving to Sun Yat-sen Memorial Park in Sai Ying Pun from December 25th to 26th. Coinciding with Christmas, over 1,000 panda sculptures have been dressed in festive attire, complete with Santa hats, attracting a large number of locals and tourists to take photos with them.

At the exhibition, many visitors also wore Christmas-themed outfits or brought along panda plush toys to pose with the panda sculptures. Some visitors mentioned that they had previously learned about the panda sculpture exhibition but were pleasantly surprised to see the pandas dressed in Christmas costumes, creating a strong holiday atmosphere.

The event organizers had earlier launched a donation campaign on social media, inviting the public to sponsor one of the 1,000 panda sculptures. With donations ranging from 350 to 450 HKD, participants could reserve and “adopt” a sculpture, which they could then pick up from the park at 3 p.m. on December 26th.

Additionally, following the exhibition’s conclusion, the organizers will host the first-ever PANDA GO! Hong Kong Tour fireworks and drone show at 8:15 p.m. on December 28th in the West Kowloon Cultural District. The drone display will be synchronized with fireworks featuring waterfall and flashing effects, forming panda families and friends over Victoria Harbour, alongside local landmarks and Hong Kong-themed elements.
