The Adelaide Zoo in South Australia began a two-day birthday celebration for giant pandas “Wang Wang” and “Fu Ni” on the 24th.
“Wang Wang” is celebrating his 19th birthday this year, while “Fu Ni” has just turned 18. They have lived at the Adelaide Zoo since 2009, marking 15 years of residency. The zoo holds annual birthday celebrations for both pandas. On the day of the event, the panda exhibit was bustling with visitors singing happy birthday to the pandas and enjoying scenes of “Wang Wang” indulging in a bubble bath while “Fu Ni” peacefully slept.

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas remarked, “Wang Wang and Fu Ni have made significant contributions to South Australia over the past 15 years, attracting numerous visitors.”
Ben Stead, CEO of the South Australian Zoo Association, stated that the Adelaide Zoo takes pride in having “Wang Wang” and “Fu Ni,” as they hold a special place in many hearts. “Giant pandas are such enchanting species, and it is our honor to care for them. Their presence not only brings more attention to South Australia but also inspires global enthusiasm for panda conservation.”
The Adelaide Zoo is the second oldest zoo in Australia, and this pair of giant pandas are the stars of the zoo, drawing large crowds each year.
