Life Journey of Panda Hu Chun

Shanxi Taiyuan Zoo: On May 30, 2013, Hu Chun traveled to Shanxi Taiyuan Zoo with another panda, “Cai Tao (彩陶),” for a period of exhibition.

Travel to Indonesia: On September 27, 2017, Hu Chun, along with “Cai Tao,” left China’s Wolong Shenshuping Base and flew to Indonesia for a ten-year scientific cooperation project. This marked the first time Chinese pandas lived in Indonesia, where they were warmly welcomed by the local community at the Indonesia Safari Park.

Life in Indonesia: Hu Chun and Cai Tao are living comfortably at the Bogor Zoological Gardens in Indonesia, where the climate is ideal for giant pandas – cool in the mornings and evenings. Despite high hopes for them to mate and have offspring, they haven’t been successful so far. This may be because they simply don’t have the right chemistry, and as a result, haven’t shown enough interest in mating.
