Intriguing Details of Panda Hua Hu

Early Life: Hua Hu was born at the Hetaoping Wild Reintroduction Training Base, where he grew up alongside his twin sister, Hua Jiao. While Hua Jiao embarked on a journey to the wild, Hua Hu developed a life of his own at the Shenshuping Panda Base.

Lack of Romantic Interest: Hua Hu’s parents are both wild giant pandas, making his bloodline extremely rare and valuable. He was born with a special purpose: to contribute to expanding the panda population. However, despite being in his adulthood now, Hua Hu seems uninterested in female pandas. Although he visits the breeding center every year, he has yet to find a mate and remains single, with no offspring to his name.

Homeboy: Currently, Hua Hu is affectionately referred to as a “super homebody panda,” as he prefers solitude and spends most of his time within his territory. His strong sense of territoriality is evident in his habit of marking trees with urine or claw scratches to assert his space.

Unique Habits: Unlike other pandas who calmly sit and eat, Hua Hu has developed a peculiar eating style – he prefers to walk while eating and even defecating. As he walks, his rear end swings from side to side, often resulting in feces being smeared onto the walls, which makes the keepers’ cleaning job quite challenging. However, as he gets older, Hua Hu seems to be becoming aware of this habit and is making efforts to improve.
