Hong Kong Ocean Park announced that starting today (22nd), the Hong Kong-born giant panda twins, “Jiajie” (Big Sis) and “Xilao” (Little Bro), will make their first public appearance alongside their mother, “Ying Ying,” at the “Giant Panda Adventure” exhibit. Visitors can witness this exciting new chapter in the panda cubs’ growth.
Jiajie, the elder sister, is a cool and fearless “tomboy,” excelling at climbing and always eager to explore. Meanwhile, her younger brother, Xilao, is a total mama’s boy, constantly sticking to Ying Ying, cuddling up to her, and even drinking milk like he’s starring in a romantic drama! The trio’s adorable interactions – cuddling, tree-climbing, and playful antics – have left netizens gushing: “This is the ultimate superstar lineup!”
Ocean Park revealed plans to expand the twins’ habitat by opening additional areas in the center and near the entrance of the “Giant Panda Adventure” exhibit. This will provide a more stimulating and challenging environment, encouraging the cubs to explore and develop essential life skills under their mother’s guidance. Park staff noted that being with their mother allows the cubs to learn things humans cannot teach, such as recognizing scents.
Over the past few months, the park’s team has provided round-the-clock care for Jiajie and Xilou while gradually introducing them to new experiences. A step-by-step guidance strategy has been implemented to ensure the panda cubs adapt well to their surroundings and grow up healthy and strong.
