On August 9th, the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center hosted the second “‘Food’ Time Unspoken, Growth Evident” birthday season event for giant pandas at the Dujiangyan Base. The giant pandas celebrating together, including “Zhang Ka,” “Jun Zhu,” “E Mei,” “Jin Dudu,” “Qing Bao,” and “Le Le,” received abundant birthday wishes and unique gifts from their caretakers.

The caretakers showcased their creativity by preparing a variety of rich and engaging foods for the pandas (Why Do Captive Giant Pandas Need Enrichment?). This included fresh bamboo shoots, carrot sticks, carved fruits and vegetables, as well as enrichment items themed around bamboo such as bamboo wind chimes, bamboo footballs and goals, and bamboo ponies. Their love and ingenuity provided the pandas with a birthday party that combined both food and play.

Notably, the event also incorporated an Olympic theme. The park featured decorated panda figures engaging in sports and arrangements incorporating traditional Chinese cultural elements. This not only attracted many visitors for photos but also showed support and encouragement for Olympic athletes.
